Netho privacy policy

Effective November 1, 2026

Netho is provided by Chandler Stuart Prisk. For privacy questions, email .

Word-library updates

Netho checks for new word data at most once a day while open and saves downloaded catalogs for offline use. These requests contact our Cloudflare-hosted catalog, which receives ordinary connection information such as your IP address. Searched words, lyrics, songs, recordings, and account information are not sent with these checks. You can also check manually in Settings → Word library.

Writing on your device

Songs, lyrics, chords, albums, recordings, artwork, imported files, and drafts are stored on your device. You do not need a Netho account to write, record, import, export, or use the bundled word and music tools. Netho does not generate lyrics or music with AI, and does not send your writing to an AI service.

Optional iCloud and Wi-Fi sync

If you enable iCloud sync, Netho stores your library in your Apple Account’s private iCloud database and transfers it between your devices. Apple processes this data under its own privacy terms. Netho’s developer does not receive a copy through this private sync feature.

Wi-Fi sync transfers your library directly between devices you pair using encrypted connections. Netho does not send those transfers through a developer-hosted library service. Both types of sync include deletions. Disabling sync keeps existing copies.

Optional accounts and earlier online libraries

If you create or use a Netho account, Supabase processes your email address, account identifier, password authentication, and session information to sign you in, confirm your email, reset your password, secure the service, and manage account deletion. Authentication emails are sent through the Netho Gmail account using Google’s email service. Passwords are not stored in Netho song files. Native session credentials are stored in the device Keychain.

Earlier Netho versions could store lyrics, song and album information, recordings, artwork, and imported files in a private Supabase account library. Those existing records are retained for recovery until you delete them or the account. The current app lets you download earlier library copies. Signing in does not upload your current library. This earlier online storage is access-controlled but is not end-to-end encrypted.

Apple and Google sign-in

You can choose Apple or Google instead of an email and password for your optional Netho account. Your selected provider and Supabase process your email, provider account identifier, and authentication information to verify your identity. Apple may provide a private relay email through Hide My Email. Netho does not receive your Apple or Google password. Complimentary access is attached to your verified Netho account; use the email displayed in the app when requesting a grant. When you delete an Apple-linked Netho account, Netho asks Apple to revoke its sign-in authorization.

Unlimited access

The free plan includes one album and three songs. Apple processes monthly and annual subscriptions and one-time lifetime purchases. Netho verifies Apple purchase records on your device to enable unlimited albums and songs. Payment card details are not sent to Netho. Complimentary lifetime access requires a verified Netho account; Supabase stores its account identifier, access status, grant dates, owner notes, and grant history. These records are accessible only through the account and owner access controls. Account deletion removes complimentary access and associated grant records. It does not cancel Apple subscriptions; manage those separately in your Apple Account settings.

Microphone and imported files

Netho uses the microphone when you start recording or open the tuner. Tuner input is used to estimate pitch. Recordings remain local unless you enable sync or choose to export them. Import and share operations access the items you select.

Inspiration links

You can keep links and notes without loading a player. If you choose to load an embedded player or open an external link, its provider may receive your IP address, browser or device information, and cookies under its own policy. Providers may include YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, and Vimeo. Netho does not control their accounts, cookies, availability, or subscription requirements.

Support, purchases, and service records

If you contact support, Google’s email service processes the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond and investigate the issue. Apple processes App Store purchases; Netho does not receive your payment card details. Cloudflare hosts this support website. Hosting, authentication, and email providers may process IP addresses, timestamps, device information, and operational logs to deliver and secure their services.

Advertising and sharing

Netho has no advertising or analytics SDK and does not sell your personal data or use it for cross-app advertising tracking. External inspiration players may show their provider’s ads and use their own privacy settings. Data is shared with the providers described above to perform the requested functions, and may be disclosed if legally required. Service providers have their own privacy terms: Apple, Supabase, Google, and Cloudflare.

Shared songs and albums

In versions with iCloud collaboration, Share → Collaborate stores the chosen song’s lyrics, chords, details, reference notes, collaborator names, comments, and version history in the owner’s private iCloud storage using Apple CloudKit. Invited Apple Accounts receive view or edit access. Owners manage invitations and permissions through Apple’s sharing controls. Sharing an album also shares its title, notes, cover ideas, and songs with the same group, including songs added later. Collaborators with edit access can add tracks and cover images. Recordings and other attached files are not included in collaboration. Shared content counts against the owner’s iCloud storage. Removing access stops future online access but cannot erase copies already saved or exported.

Earlier collaboration versions use Supabase for those shared-song records, including names, comments, edit history, and presence. Their invitations expire after seven days and admit one account. Existing Supabase shares are preserved when moving to iCloud, and new invitations are required. Their comments and history remain with the earlier share.

Retention and deletion

Local library data remains until you delete it or remove the app. Export important work first. To delete your Netho account, use Settings → Your account → Delete account, confirm your identity using your password or sign-in provider, and type DELETE. This removes your authentication account, earlier online library, and Supabase shared songs you own. Contributions to other people’s songs remain with your name removed from their history; your comments are deleted. A failed request is reported in the app so you can retry.

Account deletion does not delete local libraries, private iCloud copies, iCloud shared songs, exports, or copies on other devices. Remove those separately. Use Share → Collaborate → Manage iCloud sharing to stop sharing or leave an iCloud share. With sync enabled, deleting a library item propagates that deletion when other devices reconnect. Provider backups and security logs may remain for their retention periods. Support messages are retained as needed to handle the request and related follow-up; contact us to request removal, subject to legal obligations.

Your choices

You may use Netho without an account, leave sync off, decline microphone permission, avoid loading external players, export your work, or delete your account. Contact us to request access to or correction or deletion of information we hold about you. We may need to verify ownership before fulfilling a request.
